It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!!!

And you thought Christmas was the most wonderful time of the year!! Puh-shaw!!!! It's Oscar season people and nominations came out today!!!!! I love it!!! It's looking like it's gonna be a good year for the Oscars!!! I've printed out my ballot & done my initial predictions-I'm gonna have to do a little more research before I pick a couple of them. You always wanna find out what the various Documentaries are about-the Academy loves anything to do with human suffering so I'm gonna go with whichever pulls the most heart strings!! I love love love that Heath Ledger got a nomination!! It's delicious!! And they are totally predicting him to win which in the history of the Oscars only like 1 person has ever won after they died! I'm predicting that he's gonna win!!! Benjameeen Button got a slew of nominations and while I thought the movie was fantastic I'm afraid it's gonna go down like Gangs of New York did a few years ago where it got like 11 nominations and didn't win a single thing! That was tragic. And I'm sayin it right now if Kate Winslet doesn't win an Oscar this year I'm gonna stop watching them!! You heard me!!! Give her a crapping Oscar already!! She just needs to win!!!

Plans for my annual Oscar party will now commence!!! I'm ordering Sprinkles Cupcakes for the occasion!! It's going to be so fantastic!!!

Ok People.....

So I haven't had much going on to blog about but there are a couple of things on my mind this morning and just FYI these are gonna be pretty random!!!

#1 The new season of 24 started and everyone knows I HEART TONY!!! I love him!!! I'm glad to have him back and was all hunkered down to have him be the baddie this season but seriously now we find out he's back from the dead and is working under cover?! That's so lame!!! This isn't a soap opera!!! It's kinda putting me off and detracting from my initial happiness of having him back and I swear if they kill him off again this season I'm gonna stop watching! you heard me!!! I lived through that tragedy once-I can't do it again!!

#2 In my efforts to eat healthy and slim down I decided to take Oprah's suggestion and eat Steel Cut Oats instead of regular oats. They are weird!! They look like bird food 1st of all-which based on where they were in the bulk bins at Winco might be a possibility......hmmmm...anywho I cooked them for what seemed like forever and they never really got soft...you know maybe they are bird food!!! Well if Oprah says to eat them I better just do it!!!

#3 Yesterday at work we got to stop & watch the Innauguration and I must say it was very exciting!! I had never watched any of the previous ones before. And we got to eat donuts-you can't beat that!! There were a couple of things I noticed:where was Oprah?!?! I thought for sure she'd be in the front row!! And didn't Aretha Franklin have the most DIVINE hat on?!?! I wanted it!! ok maybe not what I should have taken away from the event but whatever!!! Still it was exciting!!! And what I pulled from Obama's speech was that he was saying "pull it together America!!!" true story-we do need to pull it together!!!

So those are my random ramblings for today!!!

Happy New Year everybody!!!!!

I'm happy to report that as of midnight I am now 2 years sober off of soda!!! I had a dream the night before that I was 45 minutes away from midnight and wasn't paying attention and downed a can of Dr. Pepper and then was so distraught that I didn't make it 2 years and that I had fallen off the wagon with Dr. Pepper which i don't even like! That dream haunted me all day long!! But I made it!!! I've decided that on my 30th birthday I get to have a can of Pepsi (my drug of choice) and a can of Cream Soda! I hope I make it that long!!!

And in case you didn't notice the countdown I'm gonna be 30 this year!!! HOLY BALLS!!!! That's right folks-30!!!! Everything is revolving around that so hunker on down!!!

Here's to hoping that 2009 is less crazy & dysfunctional than 2008!!! 2008 just about wore me out!!!!
